You’re probably reading this article because you’re looking for ways to deal with your dry mouth. It’s a very annoying occurrence that may be a recent thing, or something you’ve had to deal with your entire life.
Whatever your situation looks like right now, the important thing is figuring out how to put an end to it. The following pieces of advice that I’m about to offer, if followed, will no doubt help you out with your situation. Here we go.
The most obvious thing, and the least expensive thing to do, is to keep your mouth replenished with water. I drink about two liters of water on a daily basis (at the minimum), and I find that it really helps with my dry mouth situation.
Not only does water naturally benefit your dry mouth, but drinking water would normally imply that you’re not drinking things full of caffeine and/or sugar, both of which end up drying out your mouth more than it was than you started. Alcohol happens to do the same thing, so if you drink, have even more water.
Fruits go a very long way too, as do vegetables. These are loaded with different minerals and nutrients, not to mention enzymes that boost the strength of your mouth’s saliva. Saliva is the key to a healthy, moist mouth, so do what you can to nurture it.
If you’ve suffered from dry mouth before, you might notice that the symptoms extend beyond the roof of your mouth and end up affecting the insides of your cheeks and your gums. Fruits and vegetables will undoubtedly help with these things.
The last thing I’d recommend is the use of a dry mouth product. One such product is Biotene. With a line of toothpastes and mouthwashes that directly treat the symptoms of dryness in the mouth, regular use of a product like this can easily curb the symptoms of dry mouth. It might even eliminate them.
The bottom line is that there are many ways to handle your dry mouth situation. Be proactive about it, and you’ll be in much better shape than you are now.
