Bugs in Skin

Skin parasites are miniature creatures that exist on our skin and feast on our blood, and could be one of many different species of mite, flea, tick or other insect.

Many individuals with symptoms of skin Parasites experience stinging, crawling and biting sensations, as well as lesions that do not heal which are associated with unique structures. These unique structures are look like fiber-like or filamentous. This is the most interesting symptom people report. In addition people report pseed-like granules and black speck-like material.

There are three varieties of lice that are proven to attack the skin of humans. Of course, the most popular is the head lice. Children are proven to be the most common carriers of head lice as they play in close proximity to each other making it an easy task for the lice to travel from head to head. Body lice are far less common and are more likely to be seen in the clothes and apparel of indigent (homeless) people. A further type of louse that exists on us is the crab or pubic louse. Although slightly different in appearance, these are very much akin to the head lice. As opposed to finding crab lice on the head, they are felt in the pubic and armpit hair, and sometimes even facial hair. These lice are often passed thanks to intimate or sexual contact.

Fleas usually attack animals, but are more than ready to feed on us if we are readily available. They are able to jump to remarkable lengths for such tiny little insects. Flea bites not only irritate and itch, but may also become worse when scratched. It is also known that fleas can harbour many diseases like plague and typhus.

The Scabies mite, also known as the itch mite, is a notably irritating creature because it causes very serious irritation. The female scabies mite digs into the outer layer of your skin and lays eggs, leaving a visible burrow that looks like a thin wavy line with a little raised point at one end. Any patient may have difficulty identifying these skin parasites because the skin will be red and scratched as a result of itching and scratching it.

Ticks are small bloodsucking little mites that can really cause problems if they are undiagnosed and allowed to infect the patient for a long period of time. Many tick- type skin parasites carry nasty fevers and diseases depending on the variety of tick in the region where you live. You can sometimes sense a tick on you when it first bites you, but once it starts feeding on your blood, it usually can\’t be felt. Once a tick burrows in it doesn\’t want to leave so it is vital when eradicating ticks that you are assured to get the head and legs that burrow under the skin.
