Explanation of the Four Mental States Achieved Using Binaural Beats

Utilizing binaural beats will easily allow you to obtain varied states of mind with ease. These various frequencies allow your brain to tune into different states. These states assist with a varying number of items, including helping in keeping a positive state of mind, focus, learning, relaxing, achieving a meditative state and many more.

Over the course of time, it has been discovered by scientists that different states of mind are related to different frequencies. As an example, if you tuned your brain into a frequency of about 9 to 14 Hz (Hertz is the number of changes per minute), this would be associated with a relaxed state, or a state where you may be reflecting on something. What binaural beats allow you to do is to achieve this type of mental state. Not to mention, getting yourself into the brainwave state you would like to achieve is simple with just a CD or MP3 player.

One of the questions you may have is how someone\’s mind can become \”tuned in\” to a frequency. In order to do this, two different sounds (one in each ear) can be played at similar (but different) Hertz. For instance, in the case of binaural beats, a tone could be played at 50 Hz in one ear and at 55 Hz in the other ear. What this creates is a \”difference\” of 5 Hz, which creates the binaural beat. This beat then creates the state of mind that your mind can tune into.

These frequencies can be classified into four categories, with each category focusing on a different state of mind. The names of these frequencies should be very familiar to you, as they are frequently used when speaking of other topics, but more especially when talking about binaural beats. These frequencies are called theta, delta, alpha, and beta.

Starting in the 13 Hz to the 25 Hz range is the beta frequency range. In this range, your brain can focus on reducing stress and anxiety, as well as remaining alert.

Next are the alpha frequencies. These frequencies are from 8 Hz to 12 Hz. Positive thinking and the ability to enhance your ability to learn can occur in this range. In addition, it also produces a state of slight relaxation.

Theta frequencies occur between 4 Hz to 7 Hz. In this range, a different set of benefits can be found. These benefits assist with deeper relaxation (which makes them great for meditating), increasing your memory, and increasing your focus.

Lastly, the delta frequencies will occur at less than 4 Hz. When the frequencies occur in this range, this helps with deep sleep, an increase in immune functions, and loss of body awareness.

As you can clearly see, there are a huge number of benefits that binaural beats have to offer… And what is mentioned here doesn\’t cover every single one of them either. What is wonderful about them is that they require no practice or experience at all — Just someone with an open mind to get started.
