<p>Often the most common forms of therapies, which will be used to treat any form of anxiety, is either cognitive behavioural therapy or psychodynamic therapy. But as we have previously mentioned if one chooses to and as long as they have agreement from their doctor a person can use natural remedies as well. Some people have even found these supplements made using herbs or plants to be effective when they are used in conjunction with massage therapy.</p>
<p>However, for all doctors the first course of treatment that they will prescribe to someone in order to treat their anxiety disorder is medication. It is because they find that this provides a much quicker result to bring the disorder under control. Plus it provides the patient with a chance to explore other options for treating the condition after it has stabilized. The most common type of medication that doctors will prescribe for their patients who suffer from anxiety are anti-depressants. Normally ones such as Zoloft or Paxil, although some doctors may prefer to prescribe mild tranquilizers instead of or as well as the anti-depressants. It is the tranquilizers that can help the patient to relax more and especially at those times when an anxiety attack happens.</p>
<p>Normally a person will be required to take the medication for a period of time to ensure that they are getting the right dosage. The first type of therapy that will be used on such people is known as behavioural therapy. <p>The other form of this type of therapy which works in more depth to treat the disorder is known as cognitive behavorial therapy. In other words, what the person is learning to do is how to react in a different way to those situations which would normally cause their anxiety or stress levels to rise.</p>
<p>The other form of therapy that a doctor may choose for treating a person with an anxiety disorder is that known as psychodynamic therapy. During the sessions with the therapist the person will discover what are the underlying causes for their disorder. Once they are able to identify these that ways can be found using certain techniques that allow them to resolve the issue and so alleviate the problems that they suffer when they are feeling anxious or worried.</p>

<p>During a panic or anxiety attack the sufferer has an intense feeling of fear or terror. Besides the racing heartbeat and troubled breathing, the sufferer may have chest pain or tightness of the chest. Many people experiencing a panic attack for the first time end up in the emergency room thinking that they are having a heart attack. </p>
<p>A panic attack can happen anywhere. You can be driving your car, at your desk working or in a deep sleep. From out of nowhere you get a feeling of impending dread and you can experience a feeling of overwhelming fear. </p>
<p>Why some people are more susceptible than others we don&#8217;t know. There is evidence that panic disorder runs in families. <p>Many people who have had to deal with an anxiety attack, will quickly be able to recognize the physical symptoms associated with this condition. The first sign that you are having attack will be when you start to breath much more heavily, plus you begin to sweat. Other physical symptoms of an attack, include chest pains, numbness to the bodies extremities and they shake uncontrollably. When a person is having an attack they may find that they only suffer from one or two of the physical symptoms of an anxiety attack, whilst others will suffer from all of those that we have mentioned.</p>
<p>When someone is suffering an anxiety attack for the first time they will often reach for the phone to call for an ambulance as they feel that they may be having a heart attack. But even when they reach hospital and have been told what the problem is they often find that being in a hospital environment helps them to cope and deal with the attack much more easily. Yet for those who suffer from chronic anxiety they will have been shown ways in which they can actually alleviate the symptoms associated with this disorder themselves.</p>
<p>It is believed that a full anxiety attack is related to the &#8216;fight or flight&#8217; survival response found in all members of the animal kingdom, including humans. This response is thought to have been responsible for the continued survival of the human race, as it includes a rush of adrenaline, ultra sensitivity to surroundings, and a general aggressiveness. An anxiety attack occurs when this instinctual response is triggered without any obvious cause.</p>
<p>In studies carried out it has been shown that people who suffer from repeated attacks increase their chances of suffering either a heart attack or stroke in the future. But those who only suffer one attack and there is no history of any kind of anxiety disorder in their family are unlikely to suffer any heart problems or have to deal with any lasting effects.</p>
<p>It is not clear, however if the increased risk posed to regular sufferers is caused by the attacks or is merely related to them. Some doctors even argue that the medications prescribed for anxiety disorder put people at risk of cardiovascular events. Either way, a panic attack is a clear sign that something is not well, and the problem must be dealt with, not the symptoms.</p>
<p>Dealing with any kind of anxiety of panic attack is not always that easy especially if they are severe. Although your doctor may be able to treat the symptoms effectively, often it needs other ways to help a person find and then deal with the underlying causes of an attack.
